This week we have been learning all about Diwali, we learnt the story of Rama and Sita and acted this out using props. Some children in our class celebrated Diwali and their Grandparents came to teach us about how they celebrate and why it is an important time for them. We learnt that Diwali is sometimes called the Festival of Lights because of the Diva Lamps that are put outside peoples homes. We made our own Diva lamps using clay which we then decorated with paint and sequence.
May children have also see the fireworks this week so we created out own using paint! We then worked together to create a big art piece on the carpet making fireworks with out toys.
