This week Reception visited the chapel to see the crib. We talked about the different people and symbols we saw and the children listened to the story of the Nativity.
When we returned to our classes, the Reception children noticed snow on the floor and a very special delivery from the North Pole. The children discussed what they thought may be inside the parcels and were very keen to open them and find out. We opened the parcel to reveal our very own class elf! After sharing the story about how they had come from the North Pole to stay with us until Christmas, the children quickly set upon naming the elf.
The elf also brought along a Christmas tree and decorations for our classroom. The children had great fun decorating the tree and making their own Christmas decorations for our classroom. They talked about their own experiences and excitedly shared their ideas with one another.
Finally, Reception had lots of fun over the week making their Christmas crafts to sell at the Christmas fayre. They used their creative skills to personalise their crafts and were very proud of what they made.
