This week Reception have been reading the book ‘Cake’ by Sue Hendra. They spent some time drawing and describing their dream cake before decorating cupcakes using icing, sprinkles and gel icing. We had lots of discussions about when we eat cakes and how we make them.
We also had a visit from the school nurse who talked to us about the importance of brushing our teeth twice a day for two minutes (especially when we have cake). The children practiced brushing dirty teeth and got a tooth brush and tooth paste to take home.
We are also making the most of the weather and are spending lots of time outside working together with our friends developing out negotiation and problem solving skills.
