This week our Year 1 children have blown us away by applying all of the phonics that has been taught to them so far.
We really have been very proud of the children and the hard work they have put into their learning – it really has paid off. We are grateful, too, for the incredible support from the children’s families this year – we know that lots of work has gone into phonics and reading at home this year.
As a treat, the children were given ice-lollies to celebrate their fantastic achievements and hard work.
In History this week, the children learnt about the impressive work of the Wright brothers, who invented the first aeroplane. The children took on the challenge to invent their own paper aeroplanes, and had great fun testing them out in the sunshine!
