Over the past two weeks, we have had two of our football teams take part in this national football competition. Arsenal Football Club were the hosts of The Premier League Primary Stars Schools Tournament U11 local stage.
Our girls team got so close to representing Islington at regional and national levels. They won all four of their group stage matches and then progressed to the quarter-finals winning 2 – 1 after extra time. They played an excellent match in the semi-finals and only by one goal were defeated by the eventual winners. We are so proud of all they have achieved so far this season with their performances.
Our mixed team, the week before, qualified very well from their group stage and then went on to play their quarter-final which went all the way to extra-time and penalties. We did not win the penalty shoot-out but we can be very proud of the performances all of our players put into all of their matches.
Both teams also happened to bump into a very famous and special guest Gunnersaurus.
