Nursery were lucky enough to have a special visit from Father George this week. We shared our Christmas news with him and sang for him. We talked about Jesus and he taught us about the meaning of the word ‘gift’.
We read our key text ‘Dear Zoo’ and talked about animals that do not make good pets. We experimented with creating a wide range of animals in different ways.
We built enclosures and shelters for animals and continued looking after them in the vet surgery, farm and pet shop.
We learnt a new nursery rhyme: ‘Mary had a little lamb’ and used puppets, instruments and props to perform it outside.
At the end of the week we made animal face rice crispy cakes. We talked about the changes that happen to chocolate and butter when they are heated and then cooled down. The results were delicious!
