Nursery settled wonderfully well after the half term break, and are already excited about their new theme: ‘Growing up!’ This week we started talking about ourselves and how we have grown.
We were very excited to explore our new role play areas. Pearl class have been learning how to look after babies in the baby clinic.
White class have been learning about their new garden centre.
In the central areas the children have had a fantastic time working in the café and sweet shop.
We learnt about Shrove Tuesday and how to make pancakes. We went into our cooking room and made some delicious pancakes to mark the event.
On Wednesday we marked ‘Ash Wednesday’. Our school Chaplains came to our class to visit us, and we were invited to receive a special blessing and ash on our forehead from them.
On Friday we learnt about ‘The Universal Rights of the child.’ We focused on article 1: ‘We are all born free and equal. We should all be treated in the same way’. We drew ourselves being free to enjoy the things we like to do.
Then we went into the hall, and everyone participated in some exciting parachute games together. We learnt that we are all different, yet we all get to enjoy the same opportunities at school.
