Nursery have settled really well after the holidays and were introduced this week to their new theme: ‘Animal Fun’. We have been discussing what we know about animals, and what we would like to find out. We have been drawing animals and investigating them in the small world areas.
We have been especially excited by our new role play areas. In our Central area we now have a wonderful farm. We have been dressing up and acting out roles as different animals and farmers. We have also been buying and selling produce in our farm shop.
In Pearl Class the children have been busy in the Vet’s role play area. They have been learning about all the things we need to do to look after sick animals and have taken turns being vets, nurses, receptionists and pet owners.
In White Class the children have been exploring their new pet shop: ‘Perfect Pets’. They have had lots of fun being shopkeepers and customers, and have learnt about the animals that can be bought in a pet shop. What an exciting way to start our new learning!
