This week Nursery were very surprised and excited to discover some eggs in their classroom! Where did they come from? The children talked about which baby animal they thought might hatch from them; and represented their ideas with drawings, paintings and playdough models.
On Wednesday morning they started to hatch: they were baby ducklings! We were very surprised that some were brown as well as yellow, and that they made such a loud noise!
We had lots of fun looking at them and describing what we could see as they got stronger and fluffier. They have mostly all hatched now and we have been looking after them by making sure they have enough food and water. What a wonderful way to learn about the life cycle of a duck!
