This week in Nursery we have had lots of fun. The week began with both classes finding something strange coming down from the ceiling. The children quickly picked up magnify glasses and began to look for clues as to what had happened. The children enjoyed becoming detectives, mark making their findings and asking questions of the adults in the area to see if they had spotted anything.
The children came to the conclusion that it was a beanstalk that had materialised in the classroom. We then read the story ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’ and spoke about what beans need to grow. The children made their own beanstalks from drawings, to using construction equipment and paintings.
The children have role played the story ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’
We even planted our own beans and cannot wait to see what happens.
We have also really enjoyed having our ducklings and loved having them out watching them play and splash around. We have said goodbye to them now but what a wonderful experience our children have had.
Lastly we have been looking out for signs of spring and went for a walk in our outdoor environment to see what we could see.
