The general theme for this week has been ‘myself’. We discussed what we are like on the outside (our body and features) as well as the inside (our feelings, our preferences and personalities).
We read our key text, ‘This is me!’ and talked about the various ways we are special and unique. We celebrated our differences and represented ourselves with a range of creative mediums – using playdough, shapes, chalk and collage.
We celebrated our special names by selecting our own name cards and putting them on the wall for self-registration.
We have been talking about our favourite foods and activities, and learning the vocabulary of our favourite colours.
In R.E we have been learning about the Creation Story. The children helped to act out the different days when God created the world using a range of materials and small figures. We then went outside to marvel at the multitude of wonderful things that God has created. We were all struck with awe and wonder at all the beautiful treasures he created for us in our outside environment, and were delighted to learn that he made us too!
