Our story of the week has been ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’. The children have been trying all the different vegetables from the story. We have been describing the taste of each vegetable and confidently expressing our likes and dislikes. They have also been learning the days of the week song and working on reinforcing their understanding of the days of the week, including sequencing concepts like “yesterday” and “tomorrow.”
We also had a visit from Father George. He spoke to the children about Lent. The children could remember from our R.E lessons that the colour purple represents Lent.
For Maths this week, the children have been learning about length – tall and short. We have been comparing real vegetables and deciding whether they are tall or short. We have made a height chart for the children and teachers! We can’t wait to see how tall they grow!!
