White Class and Pearl Class went on a trip around our local area. We talked about the different building we could see and what materials had been used. Daniel said “the house is made of bricks because they are strong.” We pointed out the features of the house and spoke about them counting how many windows there were. Emilia said “there are lots of windows,” pointing to the flats in Highgate. The children were all amazing especially walking along the pavement and holding hands. Thomas said “we have to wait for the green man to cross the road.” When we got to Highgate village the children noticed that the buildings had changed saying “these are shops.” We spoke about the shapes we could see in the buildings. Amilio said “The doors are rectangles and they have numbers on them. Look it’s number 6.” After having a look around, we made are way back to Waterlow park, where we talked about what we could see. “There are lots of trees,” pointed out Asuadoba. We then looked at the ducks in the pond and the children counted them, saying there are 5 ducks. We then sat down on the grass and had our snack of fruit, juice and a biscuit which was yummy. Once snack was finished and we had put the rubbish in the bin, the children all got to run around and play in the park.
