Nursery have had a wonderful week experiencing more adventures under the sea. The children came in on Monday to discover a gigantic fish tail in their classroom! Many of them suggested it might belong to a mermaid. We read our key text: ‘The Little Mermaid’ and did a great job of retelling the story.
We learnt about non-fiction books and made drawings and models of the sea creatures that we were interested in. Our jellyfish were particularly impressive!
In maths we dressed up as merpeople and worked on adding ‘1 more’ to our shell collections.
On Wednesday we took part in a gardening workshop with Sophia and we are all hoping we can help our sunflower plants grow in time for the competition.
We celebrated St. Georges day by making a red and white recipe (Eton Mess) to match the colours of the English flag, and in our religion lesson we marked the recent Eid festival by learning about Islam.
We also found some beautiful shells in the treehouse. We discussed and described them, and did some fabulous observational drawings of them.
