Pearl class had some exciting new experiences to enjoy this week. On Monday we went to the library for the first time and met our librarian, Mrs Rooney. We listened to a story and then all got to choose a book to take home for the week. We had an interesting tour of the school on the way too!
Our key text this week was ‘We are family’, and we have been talking about our own family and the different ways we do things at home. We shared some lovely photographs of them with our friends role-played family stories in the small world area.
We made our homes with shapes and lollipop sticks; and we drew the people that live with us at home.
We really enjoyed playing in the doctor’s role play area this week: we dressed up as doctors and nurses and did a great job of caring for each other and carrying out administration duties.
We also had our first visit of the year to the garden area of the school, where we met our environmental teacher, Ms Sophia. She gave us an exciting tour of the garden. As well as the greenhouse we saw some tomato plants and we were even able to pick a few!
We then put on our gardening gloves and learnt how to plant some lettuce seeds. We were excited to be given our own pot to take home at the end of the week. We are all looking forward to helping the plants to grow!
