Pearl Class have enjoyed another nautical week! Our key text has been ‘Sharing a Shell’, and we have been learning about rockpool animals. We made some beautiful shellfish on the playdough table.
We looked at shells and practised making spiral patterns with anticlockwise movements and marks on the whiteboard and with streamers. We then made some lovely shellfish collages using spirals and handprints.
We continued our interest in making treasure maps and made some colourful sea anemones on the ‘funky fingers’ table. We acted out with the story with masks and props, and in our maths activities we used positional language to describe where the creatures and shells were in relation to each other.
We were lucky enough to participate in an exciting sea life virtual reality experience on Thursday. The children were taught how to use virtual reality headsets by our computing teacher, Ms Suliga. They learnt how to move and change direction, which enabled them to explore a wonderful underwater world! We saw a range of sea life including coral reef and a shark!
