The children have enjoyed many more nautical adventures this week. We found a treasure map in a bottle and followed it all the way to the treehouse! Inside was lots of interesting pirate treasure which we investigated with magnets and metal detectors. We learnt about different materials and where they come from. We then had a go at staining and mark-making our own treasure maps.
As well as creating sea creatures in lots of different ways we made some wonderful boats inspired by our book: ‘Tiddler’.
In maths we helped Tiddler identify the shapes that were stuck in the fishing nets, and used tweezers to rescue the fish stuck in the net in our ‘funky fingers’ area.
In our cooking session we made an edible sea-scene in a cup using crushed biscuits, jelly and cream.
We have also been talking about how to stay fit and healthy with exercise. We were keen to participate in the ‘walk to school week’ project; and on Thursday we watched and then had a try of some gymnastics.
