This morning, Year 1 received a letter for none other than Spiderman! According to Spiderman his ‘spidey senses’ told him that there was some amazing learning happening in the Year 1 classrooms. He said in his letter that he wanted to visit the Year 1 classes over the weekend to see all of the work that has happened throughout the week. He heard that superhero cities had been built, some amazing adjectives had been used to describe different superheroes and some fantastic counting backwards had been done.
He asked if Year 1 could make some maps for him of their classroom so that when he visited the school he would know that he was in the right place.
After looking at maps of our local area as part of Geography, Year 1 made some “messy maps” of the classroom using a variety of objects to represent tables, chairs etc. They worked in teams, deciding where each part of the classroom needed to go to make their map as accurate as possible.
