We have enjoyed learning about capacity this week! We especially enjoyed using colourful magic potions to measure the capacity of all sorts of different containers.
We estimated how many millilitres were in each magic potion before accurately reading the ml scale on the side of a measuring jug. Some of our estimations were extremely close!
We had to make sure that…
- We were reading the ml scale on the jug.
- The measuring jug was on a flat surface.
- The potion had settled before we read the scale and recorded our measurements.
- We needed to check if the lines on the scale were going up in 2ml, 5ml or 10ml.
