This week in Little Gems we have continued to read and listen to the story ‘Elmer.’
The children used clay to create their own elephants. They rolled, pinched, patted and shaped the clay to make the elephant body and features.
The children enjoyed using cotton buds to paint the bottom of egg boxes. They explored the colours and mixed them to create new colours.
The children created their own Elmer’s using pens, pencils, crayons and paint.
We explored matching objects to the correct colours.
The children had a great time using paint to colour pasta and explored what happens when they mixed them together.
We were also very lucky to have a visit from some very small fluffy friends. Pearl Class very kindly let the chicks visit us. The children thoroughly enjoyed seeing them and stroking them. They learnt they had to be very gentle when touching them.
