This week we encouraged the children to think about how to share objects equally and show our reasoning in a number of ways.
The activity was designed to help the children to find multiplication relations between numbers. The children were asked to divide 12 marbles into a number of different groups – 2, 4, 6 and 3. The idea was for the children to explore that multiplication and division are opposite to one another.
The children worked in pairs to come up with ways in which they would share the number 12.
The children then presented their ideas and thoughts to their class mates.
Very fun and CHALLENGING!!
