This week we have been very reflective in Nursery. As part of Remembrance Day We have thought about people who have been brave and who have done things to help us. We learned about Captain Tom Moore and talked about all the things he did and why he won special medals. Inspired by this we made our own medals and poppies and thought about times that we were brave. In other news we had a visit from a local frog which was hugely exciting for all and we went for an Autumn walk with our detective hats on to see what we could find. As we’re now approaching advent we started to explore the idea of birthdays and what they mean which will lead us into talking about the birth of Jesus. There’s been lots of matching and sorting going on as we explore different criteria like colour, shape, texture and sound. We’ve played snap, organised ourselves into matching teams using pictures and symbols, matched 3d blocks to 2d plans and played sound bingo. So far we’re really enjoying our ‘celebration’ theme and next week we will be focussing on all things Diwali so keep posted for that!
