With thoughts of the incoming summer holidays and transition to year 6 looming, year 5 have started their summer 2 topics and have enjoyed a great first week back. We are really coming to grips with our ukulele practice.
In science, we classified materials by their properties – investigating which materials were magnetic, water resistant, flexible, rough or smooth. We discussed how the objects we tested may have slightly different properties from other objects of the same material and why this might be the case (and when investigating leather, Mr Arnold had water poured into his shoes!)
We got creative in computing – making our own games using the coding programme ‘Scratch’.
Lastly, a big congratulations to Frankie who achieved level 16 in Lexia this week! Amazing! Well done Frankie!
