On Thursday we were visited by a lady, called Geraldine, who came into our school to talk to us about the Kafunjo Project. In November, Geraldine travelled to a small village in Uganda to help with the project and met lots of children and adults who were in need of help. She talked about how she would love our school to help to support the Kafunjo Project by raising money through fundraising, as our money can make a huge difference to the lives of those who live in Uganda.
This project started in 2010 and has grown day by day; the latest fundraiser has enabled a small town in Uganda to buy a water pump to make the water safe to drink, as previously it had led to illness because the water was contaminated.
The only school in the small village has five classrooms; three more than in 2013. So we are excited to help increase this number even more and make a significant difference to the children’s education.
It was a real eye-opening presentation that has reminded us of how fortunate we are, and has motivated us to want to raise as much money as possible to give aid to others in need!
