This week in Nursery we have been really busy continuing our ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ theme with a special focus on exploring beans and how they grow. We’ve all enjoyed planting our own beans and watching them sprout and it has led to some really interesting conversations about the behaviour of plants.
Our role-play areas are both coming along nicely as we continue to develop them with input from the children. As we’re all so immersed in the topic we’ve also enjoyed sorting and counting beans and singing a phonics song based on the story. We began out Easter to Pentecost topic by learning all about tombs and children built their own version of Jesus’s tomb based on the story (one even had a piano!)
Last but not least we had huge fun during the sponsored bounce and an enormous thank you to all for helping us raise much needed funds for the school.
Please be advised that Nursery will be out on trips on the Tuesday (White) and Wednesday (Pearl) of next week so make sure children have water and warm/waterproof clothing with them.
Have a great bank holiday weekend!
