This week, the children in Year 4 have continued to impress with high quality pieces of work completed at home.
In writing, the children have been learning about different styles of poetry but focused mainly on Haiku and Limerick poems: exploring the features and writing their own. I am sure the children (and parents!) are expert syllable counters now!
During our PSHE session, the children learned about the importance of growth mindset and having a ‘can do’ attitude, even when facing challenges. We were so impressed with how positive the children were with their ideas and responses – the sky is your limit!
On Wednesday, the children put themselves in Boris Johnson’s shoes by deciding how they believed the covid-19 vaccines should be rolled out in the UK. The children gave such thoughtful, mature responses, considering the need of others before themselves – we are so proud!
The week ended with an exciting Art and Design task. Following on from their research of the world famous (yet unidentified) artist ‘Banksy’, the children used learned skills to create their own interpretation of a famous landmark from anywhere in the world! It is safe to say that Banksy (whoever he/she is!) will be quaking in his/her boots!
Once again we would like to thank all of our amazing children and parents for a hugely successful week’s work. We are just so pleased with how hard you are working and how well you are doing, keep it up!
Special mention to our Stars of the Week:
