This week we have been celebrating Refugee Week with the theme “Imagine”.
On Monday, Year 6 (both in school and at home) listened to the famous John Lennon song and created their own artworks using their favourite line or some of them even rewrote the lyrics and recorded them too!
On Tuesday, we looked at a variety of images of refugees around the world and make inferences from them, this led to lots of discussion on how we can help!
On Wednesday, we listened to the powerful poem “What you know about patience?” and answered comprehension questions linked to the poem. But we spent most of our lesson discussing how we could budget for only £37 a week!
On Thursday, we looked at wonderful animal migrations all over the earth and chose our favourite journey to research and wrote first person recounts of the journey!
On Friday, we discussed our new text “The boy in the back of the class”, and we can’t wait to read more!
