This week, Year 5 were treated to a special lesson from Sophia, our environmental expert. The children learned about the different methods that the Aztecs and Mayans had for farming their crops. For more information about this, please click on these links: Aztec Agriculture Mayan Agriculture
Sophia introduced the children to different foods that the Mayans and Aztecs might have eaten and told the children that they will be creating a ‘Mexican garden’ in the summer term. The children made some labels for the foods that they will be planting including tomatoes, sweetcorn, beans and many more.
Children decided that they wanted to write signs in both Spanish and English… So they did!
They cannot wait until the summer when they will be able to yield their crops and make beautiful, Mexican food again!
