Red and Ruby class have had a great week doing lots of amazing learning. We have been extending our building skills with lego and investigating our technology toys. Our key text was ‘Monkey Puzzle’ by Julia Donaldson. Monkey sent us a letter asking us to help find his mummy so we made some fantastic ‘Missing’ posters to help her.
In phonics we have been learning more exciting sounds. We now know s,a,t,p,i,n,m and d! We have also learnt two tricky words: ‘the’ and ‘to’. We have done a wonderful job finding them around the school and even having a go at writing them.
In maths we have talking about matching pairs. We took part in lots of matching activities and went on to spot the ‘odd one out’.
To enhance our topic of ‘People who help’ us we were lucky enough to have Olivia (Claudia’s mum) come and talk to us about her job as a nurse. We learnt lots about what is involved and she even demonstrated some of her equipment. Thank you so much for coming!
