This week in Nursery we have continued to explore emotions. We read the story ‘The Colour Monster goes to School’ we then spoke about the emotions that we can have in school from being happy when playing with our friends, to be sad and mad if we get hurt. The children then explored making their own monsters using a variety of materials including paint and playdough. They even created their own monsters using the scissors, choosing how many features they wanted it to have. As they created their monsters like spoke about how their monsters were feeling and why.
During the week we have also listened to two very different pieces of music and explored how music makes us feel different emotions. The first piece of music was a classical piece by Gustav Holst called Mars.
The second piece of music was by Bob Marley called Don’t Worry Be Happy. As the music played the children used different writing materials to draw how the music was making them feel.
