Year 1 are getting in the Easter Spirit. We made egg nests as part of our English work this week. The children first identified the features of an instruction text comparing them to the features we have recently been using in our descriptive writing. They then worked together sequence the instructions for making the cakes and add the important modal verbs. After that, they put the instructions to the test and used them to make the cakes. The result was in the huge smiles on the children’s faces as they got to taste them. The children will use this experience to write their own recipes next week.
