This week we read the story ‘Amazing Grace.’ It’s about a girl who is told that she can’t be Peter Pan in the school play because she is a girl and because she is black. However, her Nana teaches her that she can be whatever she wants to be if she works hard enough.
During our class discussion we decided that it is unfair to tell people that they can’t do something just because they are a boy or girl or because of the colour of their skin or for any other reason. We decided that we should encourage each other to follow our dreams to be whatever we want to be. We also said that we should treat others as we would like to be treated with kind words and actions.
Our self-portraits show that we are all special and we are all unique with our own gifts and talents. We have big plans for our futures!
