It has been such a pleasure to welcome the Year 5 children back to school! We have been so impressed with how quickly they have settled back in to the classroom and it’s been great to see them socialise with each other face to face once again. We’ve certainly had a busy week, jam packed full of interesting discussions and interactive activities. The children have been discussing “THAT” interview in English and debating whether Meghan and Harry were right to leave the Royal family. It was a fascinating conversation and next week the children will be writing their own opinion pieces on the matter.
We spent a whole day dedicated to Art and the children had a chance to consolidate some of the cross hatching, shading and tonal drawing techniques they had been working on during the remote period. Our current Topic is ‘Wild Waters’ and the children used a combination of pencils, pastels and paints to create their own river pictures, both abstract and life like.
We have also been celebrating British Science Week and the children had a chance to explore some of the St Joseph’s school grounds in order to locate and analyse some of the different animal habitats.
