Completing our learning on Caritas in Action was a lovely way to end our very first half term in Year 1.
We initially looked at the story of Creation. As a class, the children acted out the story (which we filmed and enjoyed watching back in the afternoon with popcorn!). We discussed how, when God created humans, everything was ‘very good’. We thought about how and why God loves us all equally. The children had lovely ideas including:
- we are all His children
- we are all different and special
- He made us all in His image
After this, we thought about what makes each of us special. The children made ‘I am amazing because…’ posters – it was such a lovely way for them to showcase their special talents, from swimming and drawing to building lego towers and eating broccoli! The children relished the chance to share their strengths with one another and it was the perfect way to end a fabulous half term.
