We have had a great week watching our butterflies emerge from their chrysalis. We have been like real scientists observing them and writing about them as they change. We now know the life cycle of a butterfly and some other mini-beasts. The children have enjoyed writing, drawing and talking about so many things like, new babies in our area, going to their new classrooms and the world cup.
We have started transition. The children will visit year 1 classrooms every Wednesday until the end of the year, but please remind the children they are seeing their new environments and not their new teachers as we do not yet know who they will be. We are talking about the transition into year 1 as fun, exciting and a new adventure. They will still have lots of play time and will absolutely love it.
Lastly we had our summer trips this week. We learnt lots more about minibeasts and enjoyed visiting Golders Hill park butterfly house. Thank you to all the parents who accompanied us on the trip, we are so lucky to have super helpers!
The homework this week is to draw a picture and write about their favourite experiences in Reception. We will show these to the new Reception children and they can take them to Year 1 to reminisce on their fantastic year.
