This week the children have started to explore their new topic – Ancient Greece.
They have been researching information about where Greece is located in the world and have started to find out about what life would have been like in Ancient Greece. They looked at two specific polis – Athens and Sparta. They explored ways in which life would have differed for both the Athenian and Spartan people.
In English the children have been writing their own sonnet poems and have been looking at the structural features of these poems including rhyming couplets and number of syllables in a line.
On a separate note – This weekend our very own Mr Hannigan is taking on an almighty challenge! He is flying back to Northern Ireland and will be taking part in the seven peaks of the Mournes challenge! He will walking for 12 hours non stop and climbing up to heights of 5km high! He is doing this to raise money for Children’s cancer unit charity –
