In English this week we’ve been discussing the recent civil war in Ethiopia and this led on to a broader conversation about refugees. As classes we explored the possible thoughts and feelings of refugees through both writing and hot seating activities. The children engaged themselves so well and were so willing and eager to contribute in class discussions. Our word of the week has been ’empathy’ and the children have shown how well they can confront more serious issues and really try to consider and understand life from another persons perspective.
We have also been getting ready for our virtual Christmas carol performances! Tanzanite class will be performing ‘What Can I Give Him’ and Indigo class will be performing ‘The First Noel’. We will be filming the respective carols next week, live from Bethlehem! They will be available for you to watch shortly after so watch this space!
