Year 5 celebrated maths week with Numberfit – a website that gets children up and moving while they learn their maths! We also practiced our arithmetic skills with work on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
The exercise didn’t stop there – on Thursday we all had a go at the sponsored fun run!
As part of Geography Awareness Week, we learnt about climate change. We acted as presenters at COP27 to speak about the severity of the impact of climate change on poorer countries and share ideas for how we can help.
In science, we investigated dissolving and tested a range of substances to find out which would dissolve in water. We learnt that dissolving is a reversible change – for example a solution of salt and water can be exposed to high heat. When the water evaporates, salt crystals are left behind.
