What a busy and fun-filled week it has been for our year 6 children, who started their final half term at St Joseph’s before heading off to secondary schools.
This week the children have made some incredibly special memories! On Wednesday, the children were fortunate to squeeze in one last session with our hob oven. The children planned and created their own tortilla pizzas and were able to cook them outside. Whilst waiting for them to cook, Sophia and her team led a session with the children on growing their very own herbs – what a treat!
As part of Caritas in Action, we have been thinking about how we are all stewards of God’s earth. We linked this with World Ocean Day and thought particularly about what can be done to protect our seas. We learnt about the role chemicals, overfishing, bycatch, plastic and pollution all has to play in destroying the beautiful habitats.
With much excitement around the Euro football tournament, we also drew our teams today and are excited to follow the matches in the coming weeks. Let the competition begin!
