The children learnt a great deal about how to make pizza and the origins of pizza express including some interesting facts about various ingredients. They really enjoyed their visit and the led session was brilliant and very hands on!
They learnt that there are 6 ingredients in the pizza; flour, oil, salt, sugar, yeast and water. Also that the largest ever tomato was 4.5KG. They had the chance to knead dough into a pizza shape, then cover it in the tomato sauce. Then finally they coated it in mozzarella.
The children then were lucky enough to take a pizza home with them which I am sure a lot of you had a chance to sample! Thank you for the volunteers who came at such sort notice.
