Ahoy there me hearties!
We have been having lots of fun in our Year 1 bubbles this week. On Wednesday we followed a set of instructions to create a fruity pirate ship. Any scallywag trying to eat our treasure had to walk the plank! Since we were able to read and follow instructions so well, we then went on to write our own set of instructions later in the week.
As part of our learning about the UK we had a spotlight on Wales this week. Did you know that there are 427 castles in Wales? We had great fun building some of our own including; turrets, ramparts, drawbridges and lots more. We then adorned our castles with facts about Wales.
Wales has some very long and interesting place names. In fact, the place with the longest place name in the UK is in the north-west of Wales. It’s called Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. We dare you to try and say that!
Have a great weekend!
