This week in Nursery we began learning all about Advent. We learnt that it is the time we have to wait until Jesus’ birthday on Christmas day. We made our own advent calendar to help us count down the days. Arriving on the 1st December was Snowy our class elf. The children spotted clues to find out where he was hiding and we have enjoyed seeing him turn up in different places around the classroom.
The children have also become much more confident at using the iPads to scan QR codes. They used these to find out a bit more about the Nativity story. They took turns using the iPads and really looked after them.
We have also been learning about space and measure this week. The children used construction materials to create a home for an animal of their choice. They had to measure around their animal to make sure they would fit in the home they built. They also began talking about 2d shapes that they know.
