It has been another busy week at school for Year 1!
In Maths we have been learning how to double and halve amounts – after all, the sales in the shops will be starting soon!
It was all things ‘information texts’ in English, where the children created their own creatures! The children focussed on their creature’s habitats, diet and appearance to provide information to the reader. We were so impressed with the creativity provided by our children – we have some truly talented writers!
Although there doesn’t seem to be many outgoing flights available at the moment from the UK, it didn’t deter us from making the journey over to Northern Ireland! The children explored the country’s capital city, highest mountain point and surrounding waters, as well as identifying some of the most popular tourist attractions. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the time to try the local delicacies or beverages – next time!!
Once again, we would like to emphasise just how well the children are doing in school – we are super proud of them!
