A short and snappy week in year 3 filled with lot’s of fun and learning. We have been exploring setting descriptions in our English lessons. Pupils have been developing their awareness of the different parts of speech. We employed exciting and engaging vocabulary to create setting descriptions based off our new text ‘The Rhythm of the Rain.’ In other areas of the curriculum we delved further into our climate zones investigations. Pupils focused on desert climate, researching the hottest places in the world and characteristics of these arid deserts. In Maths we moved on to the concept of arrays and creating equal groups. Pupils enjoyed using manipulatives to make concrete, pictorial and abstract representations of number sentences. In science we carried out an experiment, investigating shiny and dull objects. We explored the concept of reflection and the process by which reflection occurs.
Have a lovely long weekend!
