We have had a busy start to the Spring term in Year 5!
In English the children have been reading the book ‘FArTHER’ by Grahame Baker Smith and are preparing to write a letter in role as one of the characters. The children have spent the last week acting in role as the various characters and considering their emotions throughout the story.
In History the children have started learning about the ‘Anglo Saxons’ and we have already discussed when and why they came to Britain. The children have been learning about which place names in Britain today have originated from Anglo Saxon words as well as the great Anglo Saxon discovery at Sutton Hoo.
In PE the children have been developing their football skills and have already started practicing a range of passing, turning and dribbling techniques.
We would like to say a big thank you to all of the Year 5 parents who contributed towards our wonderful Amazon wish list presents.
