What a week it has been since I last shared any news…….my hot chocolate with Year 2 footballers is a distant memory now!
Our School Book Fair finished on Thursday and it was a roaring success. We raised the highest amount in our history of Book Fairs, over £2,600. This means that we receive over £1,500 worth of books throughout the year to add to our library. A very big thank you goes to Mrs Rooney for all her hard work and effort organising this and you, the parents for supporting our school so well! We have an amazing school library but it is so important to ensure we keep it up to date and relevant for our young children.
We had a Camhs coffee morning last Monday at the school which was well attended and on Wednesday our Year 5 Classes went to the West End to see Cinderella. How lovely that we can enjoy live theatre again. Apparently three members of the public commented on their exemplary behaviour and said they were a credit to their school – high praise indeed!
Today, we welcomed our local M.P. the Rt Hon Jeremy Corbyn, Councillor Ngongo and Councillor Comer-Schwartz to our school. They were here to visit and see our school and enjoyed two debates in Tanzanite Class. Both debates referenced their classwork on COP26 and both were most impressive. Mr Corbyn then spoke to the children about his time in Glasgow last week. He told stories about the people he met and the difficult situations we have in the world due to climate change. All the visitors were very impressed with the knowledge, articulation and positive outlook of our children. We remain very proud of them indeed.
So, please continue to look at the school calendar and remind yourselves of upcoming dates for the many exciting events we have as we make our way towards Christmas.
