The government provided funding to cover a one-off universal catch-up premium for the 2020/2021 academic year. School allocations were calculated on a per pupil basis; Mainstream schools received £80 for each pupil from Reception to Year 11 inclusive. Our coronavirus catch-up funding is for helping pupils to catch up on missed learning, including ‘disadvantaged’ pupils.
It may include children who have:
- Missed a lot of work, or weren’t been engaging with or accessing remote learning
- Didn’t have access to the technology needed, or whose home lives make home learning difficult
- Are vulnerable or have EHC plans, so learning from home may have been challenging
- Have experienced difficult family circumstances, such as a bereavement
